HeartMath
HeartMath® & Breath-work
HeartMath® techniques and intentional breathwork offer simple, powerful tools to restore calm, clarity, and connection in the midst of daily life.
Developed by HeartMath Institute, HeartMath focuses on the dynamic relationship between the heart, brain, and nervous system. Research in this field highlights the concept of heart coherence, which is defined as a balanced, rhythmic state where the body’s systems begin to work in harmony, supporting emotional stability, mental clarity, and overall resilience.
Breath is one of the most direct pathways to this state.
Through slow, intentional breathing and gentle awareness practices, we can shift out of stress patterns and into a more regulated, grounded state. This not only calms the nervous system, but also creates space for the body to repair, adapt, and function more efficiently.
At Wellspring, these practices are viewed as foundational - returning to the source of rhythm and flow within the body. Just as breath is constant and sustaining, it also serves as a bridge between mind and body, offering a steady anchor back to balance.
These tools are used to:
Support nervous system regulation and stress recovery
Improve focus, clarity, and emotional resilience
Enhance heart–brain communication and overall coherence
Build a deeper awareness of your body’s signals and rhythms.
Simple yet profound, HeartMath and breath-work empower you with practices you can return to anytime, helping you reconnect to a calm, centered state and draw from the wellspring of vitality within.

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) & Biofeedback
Biofeedback and heart rate variability (HRV) offer a window into the body’s inner rhythms, providing real-time insight into how the nervous system is responding, adapting, and restoring balance.
Heart rate variability (HRV) refers to the natural variation in time between heartbeats. Rather than a perfectly steady rhythm, a healthy system displays subtle variability - reflecting flexibility, resilience, and the ability to adapt to life’s changing demands. A high HRV is the goal.
Biofeedback uses simple, non-invasive technology to measure these patterns and display them in real time. This allows you to observe how your body responds to stress, thoughts, emotions, and breath; this helps to gently guide you toward a more balanced, regulated state.
We incorporate these tools into sessions whenever we can. Since biofeedback depends on specialized equipment, you’ll get the full experience during in-person visits, or by using your own device at home to track your progress and patterns over time.
